Chris loves transformational architecture! He is passionate, with a keen eye for thoughtful, elegant design and deep appreciation for the heritage of existing spaces. Early in his career, Chris undertook a significant self-build project. This formative experience deepened his understanding of the construction process and instilled a hands-on approach to the design and delivery of his work. This valuable experience continues to shape his approach today, fostering strong connections with both contractors and clients alike.

As a member of the ARB and RIBA, Chris has over 20 years of experience working for award-winning practices on both heritage and contemporary building projects across the country. His valuable experience, coupled with a passion for working collaboratively, has laid the foundation for a lifelong ambition: launching Chris Whiteman Architects, a studio grounded in creativity and dedicated to delivering exceptional homes. 

Chris loves connecting with clients, taking time to explore their ideas, whilst uncovering new and unexpected solutions that bring joy and excitement through beautiful, refined design. Chris is especially drawn to properties with a rich history and charm – homes that tell complex stories of the past. He takes great delight in transforming these into sophisticated, reimagined spaces that reflect a more authentic, more unique personality of the lives lived within.
